What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? SC
We live in a small subdivision in SC where the homes are only 20' apart from each other.
A homeowner has moved out but has allowed his 19 year old son to live in the house while he attends college.
The son likes to have lots of friends over on the weekends to drink and the next door neighbor has had to call the police on several occassions. The surrounding neighbors have all complained about the problems this 19 year old is creating in the neighborhood. When the police come the friends all disperse and the 19 year old has not been charged with anything.
While these partys happen the people at the party appear to chain smoke and throw cigarette butts toward the neighbors home. Some of the cigarette butts have been found on his concrete patio entrance. The entire yard area is mulched. Last year the neighbor's wife put out a fire that was started in the mulch due to this kids negligence.
All over the mulch area in the short distance between the two homes are thousands of cigarette butts.
The parents have been called numerous times about problems but while they "say" they have talked to their son the actions still continue.
Is there any type of charge that could be filed against this kid? parents?
