Q: Is it legal for a 14 year old to sign a work related union form by them self with out parent being present.
I don't remember signing up for the union but my boss said I did and I know they never told me the union would take about 6-10 dollars every paycheck and now I have had $200 taken from my paycheck due to the union and the won't let me get out of it what do I do

I'm curious what line of work you're in that at 14 you would be employed at a union organized business.

To the base question; yes its legal for you to sign a contract. Due to your age and the fact Michigan is a right to work state you have the right to dissaffirm the contract as well as withdraw from the union.

You should be speaking with your parents about this.

Following is a link to Michigan's ACLU manual on workers rights. You might be interested in reading the entire manual so you understand your rights or you can scroll to page 34, Unions.
