California:

I work for the local government. People in my office want to unionize as we are exploited beyond belief. i.e. working overtime without pay, working for a fraction of the unionized workers, etc.. Our classification, or rather our bargaining unit isn't represented currently.

Since the NLRA does not apply to us, what does?

Without legal opinion, but only on personal thought.

GOOD DEAL!

The U.S. should not coddle bureaucratic hanger-on's. We need a reasonable, market-based compensation system. I suspect the OP's reasonable compensation level is *FAR* less than he supposes.

Just because you don't happen to be unionized doesn't mean the NLRA doesn't apply to you. When you approached the union that represents other groups in your organization, what did it say?

Actually it means that there was a spamming message in this section of the forum and while reporting it makes the post go away, it stays on the main page until someone posts to some other (non-reported) thread which CountryLiving does. Essentially, he's just bumping this thread to displace the spam thread.

As for the original poster, as my buddy the Air Traffic Controller told me "They can't fire us all!"

Yep and yep.

As soon as someone posts behind me or *M*om removes the errant thread I delete my note. It just doesn't seem right to let a reported spam's title stay on the main board where it will continue to advertise. BTW, you can still read part of a reported thread if you put your cursor over the thread's title. *M*om and I have had many a discussion about that....

My post is no longer needed and is now gone. I really hate spammers.
