Confused in KY

Junior Member
What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
I am confused in Kentucky. Approximately 2 years ago my I signed up for a possible union at my job. I have not heard from them until now. I was informed that beginning February 2011 they will begin to take out dues. However, it is a large amount of money that I cannot afford at this time. Can I get out of this? Is it possible my personnel department that I am no longer interested, therefore not allowing the "union" to take out dues? If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Kentucky is not a right to work state so if you voted a union in, you must become a member in order to work there.
