I live in Nebraska and am unaware of who the father is of my baby. If I place unknown on the baby's birth certificate, how will this come to play if i meet someone in the future willing to adopt the baby as his own?
It makes no difference if you put unknown or the actual fathers name.
The biological father will still have to be legally notified and given a chance to exercise thier legal rights as the parent, before any legal adoption can take place.
Sigh... this is why it is good to have at least a passing acquaintance with the person from whom you harvest sperm.
Really, though... Unless you were raped by a stranger, there must be some way of pinpointing the men who could be Dad. It would be easier to take care of sorting that out while the child is an infant, than waiting for some potential future adopting stepparent. Not to mention the right thing to do for your child.
