Unmarried Couples Rights

Hi, we live in Michigan. My partner recently broke up with his live in girlfriend of 4 years. They owned a house with both names on the mortgage, fininanced replacement windows with both names, as well as bought a few smaller items jointly. I've heard that Michigan does not recognize common law marriage, but his ex girlfriend has threatened to sue. What rights does she have to the house as well as the other possessions?
