What is the name of your state? Oklahoma
My husband worked for an employer for 3 days and then decided that he was unhappy with the job. He was mislead about the job duties among other things. So he notified the employer that he was quitting and started a new MUCH better job a week later. The job he quit told him he could pick up his check the following Saturday. When he went to get the check, the owner of the business basically told him that he wasn't paying him a thin dime because he didn't deserve to be paid since he quit.
Eventually, they supposedly worked it out and agreed to pay him on the following pay period. He never got the check. They claimed they mailed it, but we didn't get it so they told him they stopped payment on the check and was issuing a new one.
Now, 4 weeks later, he has still not received a check and when he called them today, they told him he was not getting a check because they claim he did not turn something back in which he did.
What is our recourse? Is this worth taking to civil court? Can we get attorneys fees? Any other advice?
Thanks.
