i live in south carolina,i have never denied my babies father or family to see my baby, now he is hiring a lawyer to get a court order for visitaion, until the court order goes into affect, can i now deny him parental visitation? if so, how will the court look upon my abrupt decision? will i be penalized? who is responsible for paying for a praternity test if he is the one pursuing the matter? does the babies last name have anything to do with deciding in these matters, she does have his last name. and am i able to have her last name changed now to my last name? i have not been contcted by his attorney yet...

If he acknowledge the child at time of birth and signed the birth certificate he can still be liable for child support and be entitied to visitation. I wouldn't deny him visitation because the court may not be in your favor but if the children will be in danger. I wouldnt let him see them without supervision and ask the court for a gaurdian at lintenment. I would also wait till the attroney contacts you because he may be bluffing. And dont agree to anything without speaking to an attorney in your favor. Im just speaking from previous exprerince. This is not legal advice.
