What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Indiana**************Please help! I am in Indiana, we have a foster daughter that we decided to adopt 6 months ago....well things have changed, and we have changed our minds now, we do not want to adopt her. We have been told by the adoption attorney that works for the county that the adoption papers are all finalized, and the only thing left to do is go before the judge.... Since it has gone this far are we now commited? Or can we revoke the adoption and cancel it? PLEASE give a speedy answer. Thank you

......

You changed your minds?

Poor, poor child.

Go pay an attorney.

Your an idiot!!

...seriously, you need to speak to an attorney.

If the State attorney says "no", you'll have to figure out how to petition the court to have it overturned.

It is generally difficult to do this.

Hence my advice - which was absolutely proper - to speak with an attorney.

What a tragedy. I weep. Not necessarily blame as it's clear the OP may not be mature enough for the responsibility, but a tragedy nonetheless.

Speak with an attorney as previously advised. And... please refrain from accepting any more foster kids. They don't need this sort of instability.

Yes, it is a tragedy, but it would be worse for the child to force people into finalizing an adoption if they do not want her.
