urgent matter about being sued

my mother told me that i am being sued but it is under her name. i live with my grandmother and she is my legal guardian. i know my mother is not telling the truth i need to find out how to learn if i am being sued or not because she won't let me see the papers. this is urgent. i am 20 and she lives in west virginia and i live in maryland. please respond back quickly to Jis418@aol.com thank you i have been really confused and crying about all of this I need your help desperately.

You can't sue someone under someone elses name. Something smells fishy about this, is it possible that your mother has used your name and is now being sued in your name? If this is a possibility, you will have to check with the courts in the county your mother lives in. You will have to check them all, district, city, county and state courts. You may wish to hire an attorney from your mothers home town to do this, they know the courts and who to talk to. The time saved may be worth the expense. You will then have to clear your name to prevent possible problems in the future.
