What is the name of your state? Colorado Sorry I know I have asked help for the same issue but I am hoping someone can advice me or give me a resource so that I can go to my lawyer with backup. I contacted the attorney resource associated with this site but never got a response. Thank You Maintainance ending Sept. 1. Background: Near the end of the divorce proceedings,( the divorce process took over 5 years!) we signed the Memorandum Of Understanding and it was notorized, 6 months prior to the actual court date. The date in which the court documents the divorce. During the 6 month time, there were changes made to the agreement. Question:My ex did not disclose information about a new store he was opening, and the financial information given for the divorce does not coincide with the information he gave during this business transaction to the necessary parties. Since the divorce he has opened 4 new stores and bought property and built a very nice new building. At this time he ownes 6 stores, when we were divorced(4 years ago)we only supposedly owned 2 francishes. I know everyone thinks they got screwed in their divorce, and I am no different. So here's the rest of the story...I did not receive any of the business(we had been married for almost 20 years at the time of the divorce)I was awarded the equity of the home and the rest of my part of the marital division was to be made in 3 payments over a 15 year time! With interest only accuring after the first 5 years and then only at 4%! So, since he has had the ability to use and invest my portion of the division, and I have not had the same opportunity, the standard of living differs greatly between us both. I have started a new business but have had some of those downfalls new startups have. Right now I am not even able to stay afloat, I do not have health insurance, my vehicle I have had for 7 years is starting to fall apart, I have some major house repairs I need to have done, and after all that my ex has not and will not help our two children with college! His income to the best that I can figure is $250,000.00-$300,000.00 with the added quirks when you own your own business, i.e. all insurances being paid by business, vehicles, vacations, cell phones etc... At the present time my income after expenses including a few non-payments by clients, might be $30,000.00. In which I have and will continue to contribute more then I can afford to my children's education. Please if anyone can help, state statues, court of appeals cases, anything that I can research to see if I have a chance in hell to get my maintance or for that matter the whole division changed because of his lack of honesty and disclosure, I would be forever indebited to you. THANK YOU
