urgent please help H1-B or ??

my F1 will expired Dec 15th 2000. I have recently obtained a child psychologist position with the State of Texas and also have a newborn child (out of wedlock). I am wanting to stay here and become an American or do whatever it takes to remain near my son. I may fall under the professional provisions of NAFTA (both a law degree and masters) and am Canadian. Please advise me as to what to do and whom to contact. Thanks in advance for any help you may offer.

Unfortunately I know very little about the F1 visa and how you would change it. Go see an immigration attorney asap.
