I recently made an offer on a home in Tennessee that was lower than the listed price. The seller countered back with a price that exceeded the listed price by thousands. The home is listed with a large regional real estate co. Do I have any legal recourse?

I am concerned that I was discriminated against because of my disabled veteran status and my intention to use VA benefits to acquire the home. Can a seller, after they have signed a contract with a selling agent, counter with an amount thousands above the listing price just because of the type of financing the offering buyer intends to use? Would a seller be able to counter with an offer above the listing price based on a persons race, religion or physical status to make the home an unreasonable purchase for the offering buyer?
