Verbal Contract

I'm not sure if anyone is able to offer advice..... I've found some information but would like more.

I live British Columbia, Canada for starters (this is why I'm not sure if anyone has any info that would help me).

I took artistic nudes (photos) of my ex commonlaw partner with the agreement that I could use them for art shows and my portfolio as long as her face is not shown in the photos.

Now that we are no longer together she is saying that I don't have her permission to use them.

Is the original verbal contract binding and can I use the photos even though she no longer wants to give me permission? (Providing I don't show her face)

Verbal contracts aren't worth anything. So unless you want to face legal charges from her if she finds out how you are using the photos, what is so hard about finding another model and this time being smart enough to get her to sign a release so there will be no further problems?

According to my research on British Columbia Contract Law a verbal contract is binding.
Could you please provide me with information or sources to back up either argument?
