verbal okay?

I received a verbal okay to use pictures from a vendor in our print ad. Just wondering if verbal is good enough or do I need something like that in writing? (I usually just email vendors for an okay, but this vendor does not have email). worry or no?

Verbals fine -- unless, of course, the other guy decides at some point that he wants to withdraw permission -- then how do you prove that you ever had permission to use the picture? If you say "I had permission -- he said I did," and the other guy says "No I didn't," without further proof, you are going to lose.

Verbal contracts are fine and binding and all -- but they are hard to prove if it ever somes to that...
