What is the name of your state? NJ,are you allowed to buy things in the months before you file bankruptcy and the weeks after you file? items like clothing, I have spent money on buying items since I filed my bankruptcy petition, Im not sure if you are allowed to spend money on things other then housing rent and utilities and food, my meeting is on thursday, should I take reciepts with me for things I have bought? well, the receipts would be on my bank statements actually, thank-you, janice

Of course you can.... Just becuase you file BK does not mean you stop living...

You are allowed to buy things that you need to live a normal life... That does not mean scrimping or coupon buying...

As long as you don't spend thousands of dollars before and after the BK, you are ok...
