What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Rhode Island

Ladies and gents... If you have the time look at this youtube video.
Alex Jones: Illinois man faces life in prison for recording cops.

Does this make anyone else nervous?

We can all look at internet police videos and see some bad police behavior, but I feel this is far worse.

Just wondering if anyone else is as surprised as me.

What's your take on the legal aspect?

To my understanding it's illegal in 3 states Illinois, Maryland and Mass. but it seems that many more are convicting people. Thoughts?

last I heard, it was only two states that considered it illegal and in those two states, charges levied have not been dealt with to a conclusion within the state. When they are, I suspect the decisions, if against the defendant, will be taken to the federal courts.

what other states have a conviction that has been upheld?

I believe it's just the 3 that have actual laws, so as far as upheld convictions I do not know. The point is not only the law and the other states making arrests but prosecutors that support this. The arrest alone can ruin some people. Also, just the implications and the results to people.

I really feel as if more and more the police and prosesutors are breaking as many laws as the "criminals." This is not a feeling I enjoy.

Proserpina, I am no great fan myself, but I felt as if this is pretty important. Not so much who was saying this but what was said.

Fair enough :)

I do want to look into this a little further though. A little googling might be in order
