I was brainwashed!!! My ex (not the kid's dad) HATES to see women in jeans and tennis shoes or ponytails. Dated him almost 5 years and almost NEVER put my hair up because I would just about see him everyday. I got so used to getting "dressed" everyday, that it just became natural and jeans and t-shirts/sweatshirts or sweats and tennis shoes are for cleaning the house, laundry and grocery shopping.
My shoes consist of two pair.
Black Reebok walking shoes for work, and White Reebok walking shoes for times when it would be wierd to wear black ones.
I also have two pairs of semi high heels for those occasions when I feel compelled to wear a dress or skirt. One black, one bone. However, I think its been at least two years since I have worn either pair...LOL
Now...I will admit that if I had to seriously dress up for a particular occasion I would probably purchase all the necessary "accroutriments" (I think I spelled that wrong...lol) to do it right...but otherwise, for me, shoes are to be comfortable and nothing else.
