What is the name of your state? missouri I am buying my mobile home from a co-worker. The mobile home is on a rented lot. My land lady says my son cannot come and visit with his dog. Yet there are other people who have dogs liviing in their trailers. His dog has a license and has been to obedience school. She said she didn't care if others had dogs, and she would let them do their business in my yard and there was nothing I could do about it. (I'm not kidding). Do I have any rights?

I am speaking about the owner of the land not allowing my sons dog to come with him when he visits me, not the person I am buying the trailer from. My son only comes over for dinner or to do his laundry.

Your rights are specified in your lease and obviously pets are not allowed in your lease. Other people having pets on the property does not affect you (they may have pet addendums/additional fees, etc. in their lease). You must honor YOUR lease between you and the landlord. Talk with the landlord about signing a pet addendum (which makes you responsible for all damages, etc.). This will proably cost $ and/or additional fees, but if the dog visiting it that important to you it may be worth the cost.

Don't buy the trailer PERIOD! The land owner is not rational.

Are you kidding? Of course the landlord is rational! Visiting dogs CAUSE DAMAGE and the landlord has every right to restrict them. I never allow pets without a signed pet addendum, including "visiting" ones. However...if the tenant doesn't want to follow the rules in the lease, then your right....she shouldn't buy the trailer.
