Discriminated against because of being handicapped. I believe. In Utah I was working with Vocational Rehab to start my own business because I am handicapped. The agency sent me to the SBA (university representive)to get get my business plan approved. Came back with glowing review. Vocational Rehab says to me that they can not help me because of limitions of standing, bending, lifting and every thing else that has to do with my disability. The question is: have I been discriminated against because of being handicapped? If so how do I sue the agency? All these conversations have been recorded with Rehab.

Does your business plan require you to do things which you are physically incapable of doing? That would be a bad plan.

I never said it wasn't about money. Also every disabiling movement or act was covered or worked around. Which they blantly egnored. Sure I want the money. Wouldn't you if you had the chance of making $300,000 a year? Just because I am disababled does not make me stupid.

My signature is not personally directed at you. My QUESTION, however, was. Does Vocational Rehab feel that your business plan is UNREALISTIC given your disabilities?

discrimination

They are trying to make it that way now. But at first there was no issue. I have no problem doing the work, I may go at a slower pace. This because I would just assume not injury my self further. A lube oil filter and inspection business does not take alot of work when you have lifts. As for repair tech I would hire a person for this. So I have eliminated (or worked around) all obstacles of my disability.

Auto mechanic is a pretty physical job. I don't think they're being unreasonable in their assessment. I think you may be being overly optimistic/unrealistic about your capabilities. You are talking about a business that is going to require you to do EVERYTHING that you're limited in. Working fewer hours, taking more time to do jobs, hiring extra people to help are not ways to keep your business profitable. Think it's time for you to come up with another plan.
