I am Female Employee in the stat of TN. I was training a new person and showing HIM around some of our corporate software and I accidently saw what he made. I have more experience,a degree and I am the resident expert. However He make 14,000 dollars more than I. We both work on the same team and do the same job. Do Employers have an obligation to pay basically the same for the same job reguardless of date of Hire.

You may want to consult your employee handbook's general policy statements about discrimination on the basis of sex. You can also contact your state's department of employment discrimination (in California they are called the Department of Fair Employment and Housing). Or you can contact the federal government's Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). They can investigate the matter and get it settled or litigate it if necessary. They do this at no cost to the employee.
