What is the name of your state? NJ.... I was wondering if I get married, does the debt I have before I say " I DO" follow me into the marriage?? My fiance owns a home and if there are exsisting liens against me,can they come after her after she becomes my wife??

A debt incurred prior to marriage is not a marital debt in either a community property or equitable distribution state. However, creditors can take joint assets in either; the innocent spouse would have to recover any portion taken.
