What is the name of your state? arizona

My husband just found out he has a warrant from 2001, for theft and failuer to appear, they say it is a misemeanor charge. He has no idea what it is from, we lived in Tucson for a very short while but was never told about any charges for anything. If he goes to the court house in Tucson will they put him in jail? how do we straighten this all out? We do not have the money to hire a lawyer

The warrant wil not go away until he is taken in on the charge. And since it is for failing to appear, chances are they will compel an appearance by taking him in to custody. But, depending on the offense, he may not be in long until he gets a new court date.

The warrant will not go away until it is served or until it is withdrawn - and that won't happen without an attorney to straighten it out if it is a mistake.

So, he can go in on his own or wait until he gets hauled in when he least expects or can afford it.
