What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NYC

Has a crime been committed and is it worth my time and money to pursue in filing a lawsuit? Here's what briefly took place: I was forcefully held against my will at a real estate company by its staff members who wanted to keep my personal documents. I tried to leave the office but they barricaded the doors with their bodies. The police were called and determined they were wrong. They classified the crime as harrassment. I feel violated and would like to press formal charges against the comany and the staff members who assaulted me and held me captive for one hour in their office.

This is a duplicate post. Please delete this thread. I'm very sure more answers are coming on your original post.

I'm assuming you have some legal expertise and according to your original response, I've seemingly posted in the wrong category

The category of the post does not matter. You have no case. But if you don't believe me, then wait a bit. YOU ARE GUILTY is our resident NY lawyer. He'll be completely honest with you.

It's not that I don't believe you... I'm not sure about this site period. All that I've been getting is sarcastic questions and responses. I'm starting to think that I should just drop by a law office.

Good plan ... so long.
