What is the name of your state? GA

 I came home recently to find my downstairs condo unit partially flooded. My roofs in some places were water soaked and the walls water marked. It was coming from the unit directly above mine. I went to them and found out from them that their water heater had burst and had flooded their uniit. The problem now is the next day - they changed their story and said they don't know what happened and used the term 'not negligent'. They deny their unit was flooded or that anything even happened.:mad::mad:

I spoke to our HOA - who said they have nothin to do with it (understandably so). I was advised by them to go after the upstairs unit's insurance - but the problem is - they (folks above) are denying they are at fault and their insurance which they initially told us about - said we cannot file a claim until their client admits to be at a fault.

So I now filed a claim with my insurance - but I think I need a lawyer as the damage seems to be enormous enough and my insurance does not give me much confidence. Their estimate to me was weak - but I am in the process of getting contractor quotes.

ANY AND ALL ADVICE IS URGENTLY NEEDED. WHAT WOULD YOU DO THIS IN THIS SITUATION???
