You have no rights to your three kids because you lost them. These kids are legally your mother's children now and you should stay away. You didn't care enough to do right by your children when you had them and wound up losing them and thankfully, your mother stepped up to the plate and adopted them. NOW you want to go meddling in their lives? Get real.

Not gonna happen.

This is why, as painful as it is to family members, it's not usually in the children's best interest to be placed with immediate family. Even if CPS wasn't involved, they should have been placed farther from you so you couldn't continue to manipulate their emotions for the rest of their lives.

Leave the kids alone.

As each of them reaches the age of 18, they can move out. Not until then. Do not bother with any but-what-ifs' or but-they-want or but-anything else; the answer to when they can move out of your mother's house is not going to change. They do not leave one minute before their 18th birthdays.

The emancipation laws in your state will not help them since it would require your mother to sign the emancipation petitions and not a one of them is old enough anyway. You will not be able to get custody of them back without a very, very good lawyer. And I'm not making any guarantees about what will happen with one.

And if you did happen to somehow make a miracle happen and get custody, it would not be because you were once their parent. It would be because you are their older sister, legally.
