This is so unreal and I am stressed out beyound belief, but I need advice.
I got a call today from a deputy, and he stated that my stepdaughter had filed criminal complaints against me....for a variety of reasons, all unfounded.
I talked to him for about 45 minutes, answered his every question, and he led me to believe that he thought that her accusations were unfounded, but that he had to investigate anyway. I said I understood, and that I would be willing to meet with him and open any records that he wanted to see...totally open and honest.
I have nothing to hide. Told him who to talk to regarding his questions, told him that I had answered her questions already...but she won't believe a word I say. I can document everything that was asked about.
I am worried that she will not let this matter drop, and after the criminal complaint is found to be untrue, she will file a civil lawsuit against me.
Do I have any recourse if that happens as far as filing a harassment suit against her? I have the testimony of her Grandmother and 2 Aunts ( Hers) that she has been calling tham and asking pointed questions about me...fishing for information....and, of course, nothing found.
I really need for this to be over. I am in poor health and at my age ( 55), don't need stress.
Thank you.
