Why do you think that strangers on the internet can give you better answers than your attorney?

i could be wrong but i dont think firing you for your refusal to do something illegal is illegal or wrongful termination. however if you reported them to some authority for their illegal acts and you were fired for reporting, that would be protected. am i wrong?

and i also dont believe that lost wages means your salary for the rest of your working life and you dont have to work. sorry. but since you talked to an attorney, why didnt you just ask him what it means?

Veronica, that would depend on what type of illegal act the poster was asked to perform and what statute (if any) was violated. Some laws provide protections for internal whistleblowers. The poster hasn't provide any info on what he or she was asked to do though.

what do i ask for?

veronica and beth,
i was asked to work on an unpermited injection well to dispose of saltwater from other oilwells.it is illegal to inject saltwater into a well unless it is permitted for injection or disposal.

Sorry but I don't know the slightest thing about regulations regarding oil wells. You should contact the appropriate regulatory agency and inquire about your situation. If you don't know who that is, you might start with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA.)
