South Carolina. My childrens biological father and I are in agreement for him to terminate parental rights. My current husband is wanting to adopt them. We had started the process when we were stationed in GA but my husband got medically discharged and time ran short. He is willing to once again sign over the voluntary surrender of rights. I am wanting to do this prosee as it is pretty cut and dry and money is an issue right now. I called down to the courts this morning and they were not friendly nor were they helpful in ansering any questions. If anyone can help me out in letting me know the names of the documents to terminate parent rights as well as for adoption as stepfather please let me know. I need to know the process as well. Thank you so very much.

Firstly, the clerks at the courthouse are prohibited by law from dispensing legal advice. They did their job well.

Secondly, we ALWAYS advise that adoption is one of those legal matters that REQUIRES an attorney. It is NOT a do-it-yourself kinda project.
