What is the name of your state? IN
I filed chapter 7 afew weeks ago and have my 341 next month. I have provided my lawyer all my tax info, pay stubs, income etc, all the standard stuff on the petitions, including appraisals. The lawyer said it was a no asset case, we have three vehicles, a loan on one, and a house that we were told we would keep, (the other vehicles aren't worth much) We were told just to bring a ss card and ID to the meeting and it would be about 5 minutes. What happens then? I have kept all recipts for all purchases with cash, and even those we have written checks for since the last meeting with the lawyer. What role does the trustee play now? Do they look further into our finances? Just curious what can be accomplished in 5 minutes and then wait 4 months for the discharge? What happens in the 4 months?

The trustee represents your creditors and they may ask anything they please though, your lawyer is correct. In a clear no asset case, the questions will deal with your identity and the completeness of your schedules.
Creditors have 60 dayts from the 341 meeting to object to a discharge. The majority don't bother but the door still has to be kept open.
Here's a link to a day in bk courts. It's pretty routine.
