What is the name of your state? NY- Upstate

I'm currently on Probation and doing very well with my P.O. he is about to let me out early (1 year and half - this summer). However, last week my school called me in about a internet wireless-card that I have in my laptop while I had my laptop getting fix in the school's "Computer Department".
I bought this wireless card (used) from a classmate but I did not this wireless ended up is a stolen property. This wireless card retail around $60. They sent me to take a Polygraph test, if I fail they might press charges on me for : Criminal Possession of stolen property (perhaps fifth degree?) or may or may not charge me with Stealing the Card? Im not sure.

What Exactly is Criminall Possession of Stolen Property? If I have no knowledge of this item being stolen, even if I am charge, do they even have evidence to proof me quilty?**

But anyhow, if I fail the test. I want to know what would happen to me if I was charge Criminal Possession? Am I Going to Jail for Violation of Probation?? Please HELP. Thanks
