I live in Wichita, Ks and my sons BIO father is wanting to sign his rights so that my husband of 6 months can adopt him. My husband is the only man that has raised my son. My son is 3 going on 4. We all agree that it is in my sons best interest for the BIO father to sign and for my husband to adopt and because of that i can imagine needing to get a lawyer. What forms and step do i need to take to get this started? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
