....An expungement of a felony does not mean that it will never appear on your criminal record...it stays with you for the rest of your life....so, why expunge? If the felony can be reduced to a misdemeanor, then expunged, is that the ticket to removal, or, is it again, a waste of time and effort? Have written a letter to good'ole Arnold Shwartzenegger, our governor, to seek a "pardon." I understand that even a pardon from the governor simply "band-aid's" the felony on record? William

EXPUNGEMENT (Barret Strong, Norman Whitfield/Edwin Star)

Expungement! huuuuuuuh!
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Expungement
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Expungement is something that I despise
For it means destruction of innocent lives
For it means tears in thousands of mothers' eyes
When their sons go out to fight to give their lives

Expungement
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again
Expungement
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing

Expungement
It's nothing but a heartbreaker
Expungement
Friend only to the undertaker
Expungement is the enemy of all mankind
The thought of Expungement blows my mind
Handed down from generation to generation
Induction destruction
Who wants to die

Expungement
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again
Expungement
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing

Expungement has shattered many young men's dreams
Made them disabled bitter and meanLife is too precious to be fighting Expungements
each day
Expungement can't give life it can only take it away

Expungement
It's nothing but a heartbreaker
Expungement
Friend only to the undertaker
Peace love and understanding
There must be some place for these things today
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord there's gotta be a better way
That's better than
Expungement

Expungement
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again
Expungement
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing

So your son also has a felony conviction or are we still talking about you?

I recently applied for a job and a felony background check was done. I have a felony (1) still on record that occurred (7) years ago through a plea bargain for "terrorists threats." Again, this was (7) years ago. I was subsequently denied employment because of this. It was my understanding that after a 7 year period, this felony will not show-up on record via an employment background check? Do I need to look into an expungement? I have no other criminal activity other than a DUI in 2000. I'am very naive as to how the law works and would like some direction as to what I should do next. Thanks....
Expungement in reality offers little to adults because the information is stored many places before it is expunged.

Expungement/pardon

Standard answer: Expungement is generally granted for illegal arrests or unlawful convictions. Generally, pardons mean you are forgiven for the crime but it remains on your record.

Check with the governor or attorney general of your state to see how you can go about either of these procedures.

My response:

Why are you so dead set against using a spell checking program; e.g., like the one I suggested to you?
