My prior company in Georgia had generous severance and out placements benefits. It recently got acquired by another company in Georgia. Two months after closure a reduction in force has happened. Acquiring company is offering lesser severance and out-placements benefits. Do I have a legal ground to ask for prior benefits? No new employment agreements were signed by me with new company.

No, not unless you have a contract guaranteeing those benefits and binding "successors and assigns" which I imagine you have neither.

Don't need one.

You work, you get paid. Anything else the employer bestows upon you is strictly the option of the employer. That's how work works.
