state of indiana superior court in washington county. my husband and i are to appear for a "pre-trial" on feb 23 (this friday). what happens if we don't show up? does the court automatically find for the plaintiffs? does it mean that we just have to make restitution for damages and attorneys fees, etc. or do we go to jail? it's a civil case, not crminial. we can't even afford an attorney.

You have not stated which party you are but I presume you are the Defendants. It depends on the judge, but normally the Plaintiffs can request a default judgement against you if you fail to show. If you were under a court order to show, the judge can hold you in contempt.
You should show up even if you are guilty. What if you do not show and the Plaintiffs testify that you owe them a million dollars?
You would not be there to object.
