What is reaffirmation? Thanks for tolerating my legal ignorance.
An agreement is filed in the bankruptcy court, whereby you and the creditor enter into an agreement for you to pay the debt and to deem it nondischargeable. Sometimes it's not such a bad idea. It could allow you to retain some creditors if you really need them. There's a cooling-off period after it's filed, so in case you change your mind, you can back out of it. It's been awhile since I've done one, I can't remember the days. I think it's 60 days, but I could be wrong. I still remember one of my law school professors saying that law is nothing but a process of forgetting. She was right.

Basically is it is a renewal of your promise to pay the lender and it excludes the debt from being DISCHARGED.
