What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

I live in Nevada, and am a disabled (collecting SSDI), 51 year old man currently enrolled in the computer science degree program at UNLV. I applied for a job at a company a friend works at, received an interview, and was told I was approved for the position at that phase by the direct supervisor and his superior who conducted the interview, and again during several follow-up calls to my interviewer. My application was then sent to the corporate HR department for background checks, etc. where my application was denied. Do I have a legal right to know why they denied hiring me at that stage?

If it was denied on the basis of something on your background check, you may be entitled to see a copy of the report that they used.

Otherwise, no. NO employee has a legal right to be told why they were not selected, outside of the very narrow window in ecmst12's response.
