What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? name Jonthan Germundson state Maine. ok this is the situation 15 years ago i singed my daughter over to be adopted now she is 16 years of age and since she was 15 years of age give or take a month or some, her and i have been having contact with each other. the question i have is this. other then right of contact. what rights do i have have really? i ask as I'm going to see her in person, and her mum loves to the throw at me that i have no rights. I'm looking to see what the law says not my wife, as to what rights i have if any other then right of contact.

you have no rights. legally, you have no daughter. barring a court order that states otherwise, you have no right to contact the child.

should you continue to harrass this family, mom and the legal father of the child can seek to get a restraining on you for THEIR child.

You have no rights. That would be 0, zero, nada, none, zip, zilch. You have no rights, PERIOD.


If you contact this girl against her parents wishes, you could easily end up in jail for a variety of crimes.

hi all

first off im friends with her mum and my daughters family knows about me comming as its threw them i set it up with. there is no ill will going on between any of us. i just wanted to know that question. even my first contact with my daughter. was threw her mum and dad, as i wanted there ok first. me going down there was set up by my wife and my daughters mum.

And in case it needs to be clarified...you don't even have the right to contact her, let alone any other.

If your visits has been approved by mom and dad - that's fine- you are visiting her as a visitor - not a dad, not a relative...a person that mom and dad approved visit THEIR daughter - "MUM' is right - you have ZERO rights..she's not throwing anything at you but the facts.
