What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? FL.
My father recently passed leaving a will, with myself and my Uncle as co-executor's. I am lost as to what to do with the will, my Uncle doesn't wish to serve as the co-executor, which is fine but I do not know what to do next. His bank has frozen his assests and 1 of his pensions is telling me a will basically means nothing until a judge approves it??? So do I go to the courthouse, hire an attorney, call a clerk....I just am so confused and devestated all at the same time. Thank you for your help..

I suggest that you go a search engine (Google, Yahoo, Bing...) and enter search terms: florida probate

You will find plenty of introductory reading material.

If the value of your father's probate estate is greater than $75,000, you will have to retain an attorney.

A bit more complex than that, but essentially correct. But, if there is a living designated beneficiary for the pension, then it should not be subject to probate and a will's provisions.
