What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois
Hello. I was talking with my landlord last night, and he was telling me how two foreign students breached their contract, just moving out of the apartment mid-lease and moved back to India. He mentioned that this leaves him with ill-will on all foreign students and is unlikely to rent to them again without substantial rental deposit (due to several cases like this). Although filing suit against a non resident is unlike to recover damages, it would allow him to get a judgment (assuming they didn't answer the summons). Would this judgment have any recourse on the two individuals should they decide to come to the US again. IE: Renew their visa, travel, or try to get work approval in the future?
Thank you in advance.
