I'm in a discussion on another forum about the George Zimmerman case. If you've been following the case you know that recently his bail was revoked because he did not reveal to the judge assets he had in the form of donations for his legal defense.

Can this information be used against him in his criminal case for manslaughter?

It can be used to impeach his credibility if he testifies.

"Gee, Mr. Zimmerman, why should we believe you now when just last year, you lied to the court about your finances."

Since that does not have to do with the facts of the criminal case, such character evidence will not be admissible. (Not to mention facts not in evidence. I don't believe a fact finder has found a "lie" as yet.)
