Maine. I would like to serve my exhusband with papers for him to sign terminating his rights to 2 daughters we had while married. He has been out of their lives physically and financially for over 5 years. I believe he will sign papers. Question #1 is Is there a particular form that I must obtain from my local court or can I just write a letter and have him sign it. Question #2 If he chooses not to consent, because so much time has past with his no interest. Can we still proceed with terminating his rights and then step-parent adoption?
