seeking employment /small town /newspaper head lines read & announced over the radio:
" warrant service(for non-suport) leads to arrests" (turns into a drug bust)

what are the chances having the same last name as 1 of the people in the article: that companies & businesses will want to hire me? being a small town. (if looking at application my age & their age could make us parent/child (we are related by marriage only)).

I wouldn't even worry about it. If the interviewer asks about it (which I doubt he would) you could always say your are related by marriage and don't really associate with this person. Most people understand that you can't control who your mother, aunt or sister married.
