I don't know if this is the place to ask or what. If it isn't and there's some other message forum to post on for this topic, please redirect me to it. Anyways, I live in Texas and I was wondering when I can legally leave my parent's home without them being able to bring me back home by force.

I'm pretty sure it would be 18, I think its 18 everywhere since you're not considered an adult until then. I'm not 100% sure though, are you 18?

I'm 15, but I'm desperately trying to get out of my mother's house (and NOT into my father's). I have places where I can go, but I can't leave without my mother having the police drag me back onto the property. I heard somewhere that I could leave when I'm 17, I'm not sure.

Katie, the age of majority is 18--in all states. In certain cases, the courts can and do emancipate minors.

Since you're not interested in remaining with your mother OR in going to your father's, I have to think that the problem may have something to do with YOU.

If you're simply unhappy with the rules in your home, you'll just have to wait it out. On the other hand, if you suffer any form of abuse, you could be removed from the home. Good luck.
