I recently received a ticket for running a red light.

The yellow arrow disappeared as I was in the intersection followed by the green for the straight traffic.

The officer told me the law was "you have to be across the line before the yellow goes off".

Does this mean front bumper? whole car?
Is that fraction of a second red between yellow arrow and green dot actually running red?

Each state has a law that says what the term means, and how long the light must be yellow before going red.

Any ideas where I can find this info?

I read the traffic statutes posted on the Texas state web site, but found only the mention of everyone must obey the signal (with the normal exceptions).
