What is the name of your state? California

I am currently a Best Buy employee in Southern California, age 16. I know it would be logical that, because I worked the hours, I would have complete rights to my paycheck. However, do my parents have any rights to the money I make? Could they spend it for themselves? Thanks!

Possibly.

My parents made me set aside money for college. I couldn't open a bank account by myself so they had access anyway. They COULD have forbidden me to work at all ... had I not complied with their wishes, I wouldn't have been working at all in high school.

What exactly are they doing? And why are they taking your money?
