What is the name of your state (only U.S. law) MA

My 16 year old son has a lawsuit pending for a dog bite that my ex-wife started unknown to me about a year in a half ago.

Since then for other reasons I have gotten custody of him through the courts.

She never even told me about the lawsuit I found out through my insurance company because once they found out there was a lawsuit thay denied the claim and she has stone walled me on the paperwork that i needed to sudmit to them.

Now that the lawsuit is coming to a head and a settlement is near she as asked my son not to discuss it with me and has gone out of her way to keep the details about It from me.

My concern is she is trying to cash in on this..… if there is an award I think it should go to my son for collage or to be held in trust until he is of legal age…it should not be something to go to her or me he is the one that spent them time in the hospital and suffered the pain and has the scars.

As the legal custodial parent do I have the right to step in the middle of an ongoing lawsuit and take over or at least request to be brought up to date and have any say in it?

I hate the crash her gravy train but what’s right is right….

At the moment the ONLY right you have is to go the court in the county the lawsuit was filed in, pay for a copy of the pleadings in the case, pay an attorney to review them to determine if you have any standing to intervene... and go from there.
