 What is the name of your state?Ny...I had a Amex credit card.I did fall behind in the payments but it is now paid off..I was viewing my credit report and if is listed as "Paid/Charged off"The charged off date is Feb.04 but I made the last payments directly to Amex not to any collection agency(was never sent to collection)Can amex put in on my report as charged off and still take my payment ..My understanding is that when it is charged off they take the loss and sell the debit to a collection agency to try and collect and amex just writes it off..My purpose for the post is to see if there is any way to get the charged off status of my report ..Do you think it is possible???thank's

Yes, they can list it that way, nothing illegal about it. Since you have already paid it, you really don't have a leg to stand on to get it off of your CRA's either.
