I filed for divorce in June 2005 after my then husband moved in with his girlfriend in Maryland. My twins (1 of each) were five at the time. My ex dragged the divorce out for more than 3 years and several live in girlfriends later my divorce was final in November of 2008. I was awarded sole legal and sole residential custody. During that time my x's visitation was modified for reasons such as drug abuse and his girlfriend getting a dwi with my kids in her car, yet he continues to make false accusations and sending CPS to investigate. The kids are now 12, they are angry with father. I have always been squeaky clean and my x keeps getting reprimanded by the current judge in family court yet they are going to allow a custody trial. The trial is set for March 2011, so its a long way off but I can't take that kind of time off from work without losing my job. i know it will not get past the 1st phase as my & the kids situation remains status quo but I know most of the time you show up at court for nothing because some one else doesn't show. I don't understand why my x is allowed to abuse me and the system like this. BTW, the original forensic evaluator diagnosed him DSM1V Narcissistic personality disorder. Thank you.
