I'm currently in the state of Florida(only U.S. law)?

When an attorney writes up a motion for early termination of probation for a client on a criminal case and submits it to court, does the court usually respond back with an answer like "request granted or request denied" or anything along those lines to the attorney or the client or will the court toss it a side like it never existed?

I'm almost positive the court itself won't respond. I'm pretty sure the prosecuting office will.

Thanks for responding Isis1 - The reason I ask is because I had a situation where an attorney drew up a motion for early termination of Probation and then left it at that. I paid him good money and never heard back from this attorney. I'm trying to figure out if that's all this attorney was required to do.

After he drew up the motion for early termination of Probation I never heard back from the court or received any kind of answer FROM ANYONE. It seems to me like that motion he drew up was pointless and I paid for it!!

Well if he didn't file it, you might have a beef.

Other than that, he should be able to find out what the deal is.
Did you have a positive the recommendation of the probation officer?
Frankly, early termination requests aren't exactly the highest priority. The court will almost certainly defer them to the corrections department to find out what your standing is, and the corrections department isn't necessarily speedy. You might inquire from your PO if they've heard anything.

Well, this case has been closed for me since May. I'm finally done with it all. I was just wondering if anybody had ever looked at the motion for early termination of Probation or did I pay a lawyer for absolutely NOTHING!

What happened Ron was; I paid this lawyer to assist me with early termination of Probation. The attorney drew up a motion for early termination back in Oct 2009 and then left it at that. I never heard back from the attorney or the courts with regards to the status of that motion. 4 months later my Probation officer requests a Reprimand hearing in which the judge ruled for me to pay a certain amount, and I paid it! That was the end of my sentence.

Did the lawyer complete his end of the bargain, it seems to me like he didn't but I could be wrong....
